Inaugurazione dell'ospedale Ikitelli Başakşehir Istanbul City
FM GRU srl participated in the construction of Ikitelli Başakşehir Istanbul City Hospital Project, conducted by Rönesans Holding: this was Turkey's 3rd biggest health investment projects. The project, which serves 23,600 patients, was completed in 2019. The hospital was finally opened in May 2020.
With a capacity of 2,682 beds and a closed construction area of 1,000,000 square meters, Ikitelli Başakşehir Istanbul City Hospital has the title of "The World's Largest Seismically Isolated Building". Thanks to the world's most advanced earthquake isolators, the hospital can continue to carry out all its operational activities without any interruption even during and after the most severe earthquake possible.
The project consists of two pieces of lands separated by a road. The northern part includes 6 hospital buildings, a diagnostic and treatment block, one central plant, an administration area and a conference hall. This part also includes a ceremonial square and a trigeneration unit building. The Southern part of the project area consists of Psychiatric Hospital and Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Hospital.
30 FM tower cranes were installed in this huge jobsite, especially the models FM 1470 TLX P12, 1070 TLX P10 and 1760 TCK P10. The cranes had different heights, load capacities and features according to all jobsite’s needs: Jibs’ lengths were all between 60 and 70mt and the tip load capacity ranges between 1000 and 1700Kg. The maximum cranes’ load capacity was 12 ton.
Particular attention had been paid to anti-collision system: we developed a proper system, which allows all the cranes to operate together, by interfacing themselves safely, without any collision.
Other FM tower cranes were installed in other important Hospital construction projects in Turkey, such us YOZGAT HOSPITAL in Mersin, which has been inaugurated on last 19 June 2020. The Mersin City Hospital is the largest health complex in Europe, with 1.253 beds.
Further significant construction sites held in these latest years in Turkey were ELAZIG HOSPITAL and ADANA HOSPITAL: all the projects were followed and conducted by Rönesans Holding.
